“In August 2014, the attention of every horse enthusiast will be focused on Normandy, which will play host to two weeks of equestrian excellence during which the best athletes of the moment will compete against each other in a spirit of fraternity and sports performance.
We have accepted the challenge of organising the World Equestrian Games with perceptiveness and determination. We are conscious of the responsibility that we have, of the need to do everything possible to meet the expectations not only of the Fédération Equestre Internationale, but also of all those involved in promoting the equine industry in the world.
The whole region is already mobilized and is committed to rising to the challenge for 2014. Normandy intends to make these World Equestrian Games a first-rate sports event, in which every discipline will find a setting that is favourable to the emergence of excellence. It will endeavour to display the scope of French expertise in terms of welcome and of the organisation of an event of this scale.
Normandy is proud to distinguish itself by undertaking these commitments, and it is honoured to offer this event to France, whose equestrian tradition is renowned throughout the world. It is happy to allow the greatest number of people to benefit from the huge media fallout that will be generated by the World Equestrian Games.”
